What You Need To Know For the Perfect Interview
Author : Michael Fleischner
Once you’ve put together your resume, and either upload it to job boards or distribute it on your own, you should be preparing for the next challenge
Interviewing for your desired position is the most important 30 minutes of your entire job search Many individuals are nervous about or during the interview process, but you don’t have to be As someone who works with job seekers on a daily basis, its evident that most challenging part of the process, for hiring managers and job candidates, is the interview itself
The key to a successful interview is being prepared Not only should you be familiar with the company and position, you must have a firm understanding of your skills and how they apply to the particular job you are interviewing for In addition to knowing your stuff, rehearse, prepare, and perfect Follow these steps before you interview:
First, research the company and the relevant industry If you are hungry for a job, you may not really care where you work But your interviewers are looking for someone who wants to be there and can be passionate about their mission Knowing about the company can help you convey the interest that will help you stand out from the crowd
Second, have some questions of your own to ask As you’re researching the company, look for things to ask about: “I saw your press release about your expansion into the micro-widget market What has the response been from your competitors” or more generically, “How do you think this company differs from your competitors in terms of work culture ” Asking questions of your own accomplishes three things First, it shows your interest in the company Second, it kills time And third, it helps put you in control of the interview
Third, consider your greatest accomplishments and how they might apply in your new role Speak with confidence and assume that you already have the position Can you relate your greatest accomplishments to that company’s current environment? What value can you deliver?
Fifth, think of the hardest questions an interviewer might ask Think out your answers and rehearse them until they flow easily Dont forget about questions like “what are your weaknesses” and “what do you want to be doing in five years?” As you’re pondering, consider what the interviewer might want to hear Then, craft honest answers that will address the interviewers concerns
Six, look your best If you’re not sure what to wear, it’s better to over-dress than to under-dress Doing so lets the interviewer know you understand business culture, and conveys that you really care about being there The key is to look professional and dress for the position you want How you dress says a lot about who you are and what you plan to accomplish
Interviews can be stressful, but they’re simply conversations with other human beings Prepare thoroughly, clean yourself up, and relax Even if it doesn’t go as well as you hope, you’ll learn from it Remember, practice and review to build confidence Over time, you gain interviewing skills and confidence that can land you the job you want!

An Error Free Resume 10 Proofreading Tips
Author : Alvah Parker
Your resume must be error free of any typos, grammar errors and misspellings Even a winning resume is in danger of being put in the reject pile if hasn’t been proofread Certainly a resume with errors makes the job candidate look less qualified and it gives an unfavorable first impression of the person The best way to guard against these kinds of errors on your resume is to proofread it carefully Here is a list of proofreading tips to help assure an error free resume
1 Read the copy out loud (I do this with my door shut Otherwise people begin to wonder!)
2 Read the copy backwards to focus on the spelling of words Covering the words above and below your line helps you to keep your eye just on the line you are proofreading You don’t have the context and meaning to let you know if your eye skips a line
3 Use spell check and grammar check as a first screening but don’t rely on them There are too many possibilities for error with spell check (Examples: there and their, to and two, our and hour etc words that are correctly spelled but may not be the form you wanted )
4 Have someone else read it Ask a friend, a relative or your coach to review it for you Your final review however is important because it is your resume!
5 Print it out and read it even if you have proof read it on your computer Something can look entirely different on paper It is easy to miss something on your computer Some people suggest that one should never proofread on your computer
6 Proof the body and the headlines separately It is easy to miss something in a headline We seem to concentrate more on the body
7 Use a ruler to check the copy line by line Keeping your eye on one line at a time is important
8 Have a dictionary close by and a thesaurus too When in doubt look it up if you can It is always hard to find a misspelled word in the dictionary however!!
9 Don’t proof for every type of mistake at once – do one proof for spelling, another for missing/additional spaces, consistency of word usage, font size etc
10 Take a break and come back to it fresh How often do you find a typo after the fact even when you have proof read the document several times! The wrong spelling looks right until you leave it and come back to it when you are fresh

Tips On Landing Outsourcing Jobs In Web Design
Author : Mike Batta
There is a big market for competent persons in the area of web design The market place is waiting for you to enter and make your mark A large number of individuals and companies want to set up their own web sites but are not able to do so since they lack the confidence or don’t have the ability to design a web site Therefore, they are eagerly waiting to outsource their work and as a professional you stand to gain However, at the outset you need to keep some points in mind if you want to make your business successful
First and foremost, make use of any feedback you might have received from your earlier work For example, if you have had specific web design training in a college or university program, you must high light this along with your grades The fact that you got high grades means that you are better than most of the people out in the market Be confident about that fact and keep this in mind while deciding your pricing
What is your target market? A natural choice is the internet You can check many exclusive sites that cater to the professionals who bid on projects posted by many individuals and companies It is normal for such sites to charge a monthly fee and you have to take a call whether the fee is worth the while Some sites also offer one month’s trial You can decide on professional paid mem-bership once you earn atleast double the monthly fee in the first month itself
How much to charge? is the next question that comes to mind When you are competing, whether on the internet or physical world, this question will always arise You must be clear as to what your own worth is, in terms of dollars / hour This is a guesstimate that you can work out depending on what your immediate needs are, how much of a wait can you afford before you need that $1000 payment You must keep your future also in mind Usually it is better to start with low, reasonable value for money pricing This may mean taking a cut on your earning during the period when you are making the efforts to establish yourself However, do not take up too many short term jobs at the same time This is a sure fire recipe to disaster You must plan for some long term projects also along with the short term ones This will ensure that you will get some on going income Don’t sacrifice your value by pricing yourself aggressively low You must keep in mind that quality always gets paid more Don’t waste your precious time on projects that take too much of your time but do not pay commensurately
There are innumberable opportunities in the area of web design for those who are willing to work Bidding on projects that are outsourced by others leads to work and such work with positive feedback from the customers leads to more projects However, do not “bite more than you can chew” Don’t bid on too many projects at the same time because you will not be able to do justice to any job and you will spoil your own name in the market by giving out substandard work
MJ Batta writes job outsourcing related topics and hosts a job outsourcing research site at Job Outsourcing and a special outsourcing report at Why Companies Outsource

Walt Disney World To Tokyo Disneyland Dreams Come True For Disney Cast Members
Author : Tollie Schmidt
How many Disney theme parks operations cast members get the chance to travel halfway around the world to give their attraction spiel? Such was the case for two Disney jungle cruise skippers, Beth Schafer and Alex Williams, who represented the Walt Disney World resort at Tokyo Disney resort, as part of a special gathering of jungle cruise skippers from Disney theme parks around the world
Their trip was part of the 25th anniversary celebration for Tokyo Disney Resort, during which the resort is making 25 dreams come true for its cast members One unusual dream request came from an operations supervisor at Tokyo Disneyland park who wanted to bring together the top Disney jungle cruise skippers from around the world to share best practices
Kenichi Ito wrote: “I want jungle cruise skippers worldwide to gather at Tokyo Disneyland, and I’d like to experience all the Disney jungle cruises that are located around the world I also want to create an occasion where we can meet and get to know the skippers from around the world ”
Kenichi’s wish was chosen for being one of the most unique suggestions submitted, and the search was on for two Disney jungle cruise skippers to represent each park with a jungle cruise attraction – Disneyland Resort, the Walt Disney World Resort and Hong Kong Disneyland
To be selected for this trip, cast members at each site interviewed with Leaders and then auditioned before a panel of judges, performing their best Disney jungle cruise spiel
“I was very excited I knew it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that may never come around again,” Beth said The chosen Disney jungle cruise skippers were announced at a ceremony on the attraction’s dock in February
“When they called my name I was completely shocked It took a couple of seconds to sink in and I burst into tears,” Beth said “When I was chosen, it was a roller-coaster of emotions – I was happy, I was screaming, I was crying, I ran around Adventureland, it was completely overwhelming,” Alex said
Alex and Beth’s visit included a two-day tour of Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, a meet-and-greet with Tokyo skippers, and a chance to reenact their own Disney jungle cruise spiel alongside their Disney jungle cruise video
According to Alex, one trip highlight was getting to know Disney jungle cruise skippers from other cultures “The best part was the interactions I got to have with cast members from around the world who share a passion and love for something that I do, the Disney jungle cruise, something so unique, and how we were all brought together by such an amazing situation,” he said
Another highlight of the trip was an open forum question-and-answer session that was open to Tokyo Disney resort cast members Alex and Beth were surprised at how many Tokyo Disney resort cast members showed up to ask questions about the Walt Disney World resort Among the topics they discussed were differences in the attractions and guest service best practices
“I was completely shocked at the amount of cast members who adore the attraction and were so excited to meet people from other countries who do that job,” Beth said “I’ll forever be grateful to Kenichi for making a dream of mine come true that I didn’t even know I had It was an absolutely dream-come-true experience It has made me feel so fortunate to be a part of an attraction that is loved globally “
