Are you an amateur singer who wants to make it in the big time? There are a lot of steps to take toward that goal and a lot of hoops to jump through With that may come disappointment and rejection But those who succeed manage to make it through it all somehow How do they do it? By maintaining motivation and a good attitude Here are some tips

– Write down your goals and your dreams for your singing future and refer to them often

Sometimes, especially during times of struggle and trial, it’s easy to lose sight of what your goals and aims are Because everyone needs food and shelter, you may become overly obsessive with your day job and need for funds Try not to See your day job as a means toward an end, and not the end itself: you are earning just enough money to get by while you concentrate on furthering your singing career This is not the time to be saving for retirement!

Keep your goals displayed in a prominent place and decorate them with pictures of singers whom you admire and emulate Post a picture of yourself next to them and imagine yourself living out your dream along with them Put these pictures all over your house: on your bedside table, on your bathroom mirror, on the fridge, and on the backside of your front door Keep your dream alive!

– Maintain a positive can-do attitude

This can be extremely difficult, but inevitably, those who have found long-term success in singing careers are also those who always maintained a positive attitude and had faith in themselves and their talents even when others did not

Find out more about the singers you admire and want to be like How did they get their start? How long did it take them? Did they have the same kinds of goals and aspiration as you do when they were struggling? Those who want to be like their favorite singers sometimes lose sight of the process it took for them to get where they are today Success rarely happens instantly: it must be earned

Maintain your own positive attitude by learning and gaining inspiration from the struggles of those who have gone before you

– Remember to put yourself out there and take risks You can stay motivated and positive by actively looking for ways to further yourself in your career and progressing toward your goals No one ever gets anywhere by standing still Look for local talent competitions, join a choir, or enter an online talent show

No one can make good things happen but yourself Go for it!
