Electrical Courses What You Should Know

Author : James Copper

Our lives today are unimaginable without electricity and electricians are the people who bring electricity to our homes and offices Earlier, the job of an electrician was considered a job of an artist and hence, no formal training existed Knowledge was passed on from senior electricians to juniors But, now the times are changing Technology is advancing at such a rapid pace that any electrician who does not keep pace with technology will soon be pushed behind by better informed adversaries Also, a formal training can lead to easier acceptance and immediate recognition in the market place This brings up the need for electrical courses

Electrical courses can address a variety of issues based on the target audience and since the audience is from varied cross-sections of the society, so are the courses The education market is flooded with electrical courses, and a number of institutes have suddenly popped out, offering electrical courses Some courses are meant for fresh people who wish to make a sound career as an electrician These courses generally deal with all the basic knowledge an electrician would need as well as take the students through advanced modules to inculcate the intricacies of the profession in them such as safety at work, better installations, team management, working with futuristic materials and latest technology, etc

Specialized electrical training to handle the installation and maintenance of electrical fittings at offices and factories are also available Electricians tending to the needs of such commercial establishments have to be very professional and be able to work with large scale installations and ensure that these lines never fail as a single failure can result in a major financial loss, and sometimes even the life of the workers may be at stake For large scale industries, electricians may have to work in teams and good electrical courses must address this issue also Electrical courses incorporating a good amount of team work and extensive documentation in standardized codes of the profession are most suitable for such would-be electricians

There are also electrical courses for those who wish to just learn a bit of stuff for their personal awareness and for handling minor jobs and emergencies These courses simply consist of introduction to various aspects of electrical fittings and a few hands-on sessions to familiarize the students with the electrical stuff And that is not all, some electrical courses are especially designed for people who have already been in the profession for quite some time and would like to prove their competence in a standardized format Upon successful completion of these special electrical courses, experienced electricians can obtain a certificate, which they may need for a job in any big company Also, certain institutes help in securing excellent jobs after completing the electrical courses they offer

Hence, whatever you may want to learn to be a successful electrician, chances are very good that you will find a tailor made electrical course which can give you a jumpstart in your career as an electrician or boost your already booming career

Set Your Goals Live The Dream

Author : Koz Huseyin

Today, I am going to tell a story of success This story will show the importance of why set your goals, and what it means to live your dreams, rather than simply floating though life

Once in a cave there was darkness In this cave many were; not knowing a way And simply not knowing at all However, through a hole in the cave, some light entered One of these people found that he was aware, and as he became aware, he found he and all were shackled

As he turned his head in another direction, he saw a glimmer of light The light illuminated him as he realized there was a choice He did not have to stand in that place But as he tried to find ways to unshackle himself, he could not Others were trying to put all the shackles he took off back on!

This distressed most to fall back and carry on as the others However, this one kept at it He simply would not give up In fact this pressure like how pressure works on carbon to make a diamond made this man stronger As he got stronger and stronger, he was able to sort through the problem of the shackles, one by one

Gradually he was able to take off all the shackles He was running, and he was free However, there was a door And this door was closed He did not know how to escape He did stand there wondering for a while how he could get out

He then went up to that gap and peeked through it This venturing man found a garden, found lands more amazing then he ever imagined As he kept his thought on this, he just knew he had to make his escape into this amazing world

As he went to the door, he thought there was no hope In fact all hope almost left venturing man He knocked at the door, as that was all that was left for him to try So he knocked, and knocked again, and again However, he was knocking so loud, he could not hear the man on the other side of the door

He stopped for a moment, and the voice came ‘yes, how may I help you’ The venturing man said ‘let me out’, and then there was silence The door creaked open, and the man was allowed out He asked what was outside the cave, and the man said to him ‘where there was darkness in here, there is light out there’

But, the man at the door went on to tell him that it was no good telling him about it, and he would have to go and see for himself So the man did, he went on his way And traveled through the cave, until he found a great light It almost blinded him

However, he was finally here He achieved it He had light in his life, and was living in a place which was infinite in comparison with the cave

Not All Safety Vests Are The Same

Author : Art Gib

If your job requires you to do any kind of work outside in areas where there might be motorized traffic or other hazards, wearing a safety vest is an absolute must If your employer doesn’t provide one for you, how do you know which kind is right for your situation? Here is a description of the different kinds of safety vests available on the market today and the appropriate contexts for their use

Most safety vests are made from highly durable polyester mesh or water-resistant nylon They are not designed to provide any kind of protection from the heat or cold: they are strictly meant to help the wearer be seen All safety vests are reflective, of course, but that degree of reflection varies depending on which “class” the vest falls under The higher the number of reflective tapes a vest displays, and the broader the width of those tapes, the higher the designated class it is intended for

– Class 1: Class 1 vests are appropriate in environments where the worker retains a large degree of control over his surroundings such as on a loading dock, in a parking lot, or in a warehouse In these kinds of settings, motorized vehicles are at a minimum or are traveling at low rates of speed Also, the worker himself is in a position to keep an eye on traffic and is not so absorbed in his tasks that he can’t look out for his own safety

A valet driver is a perfect example of someone who would wear a Class 1 vest: he is usually located at curb side near to slow-moving parking lot traffic, and he is occasionally walking in the parking area itself

– Class 2: Class 2 vests should be worn by those who need to work near traffic going around 25 miles per hour or less, such as in a residential neighborhood Utility workers doing sewer work on a residential street are perfect candidates for Class 2 vests They are at higher risk than Class 1 workers because of the potential speed and proximity of traffic and may be too absorbed in their duties and tasks to pay close attention to what is going on around them

– Class 3: These vests are most similar to Class 2, but have the maximum amount of reflective properties available in a vest Workers who wear these vests generally work in areas where nearby traffic travels at speeds exceeding 50 miles an hour, such as on a freeway Utility workers and highway construction or repair crews are the most likely wearers of Class 3 vests They need to be easily visible in snowy and rainy conditions and need to be instantly recognizable when they come within headlight range

Even athletes such as bikers and runners should wear some type of reflective vest if they choose to travel the busy streets: it’s all about staying safe

How to Ace Virtually Any Interview

Author : Casey Yew

Job interviews are scary prospects for even the most qualified candidates How you look on paper and how you present yourself in a one-on-one or group interview setting are often two very different things Fortunately there are ways to solidify your position in any interview regardless of the actual interview purpose The trick is to know yourself well enough to have a ready framework to fill in any setting And of course you should always start and end an interview with a genuine smile and a firm handshake, this alone can seal the deal for some interviewers

Compile Your History

You know where you’ve been and you might have dreams of where you’re going, but to be ready for an interview any time, you need to have these concepts boiled down to pat responses The majority of interview questions pertain to what you’ve done and what you’ve learned from past experiences Since you already know this information, organize it in your mind so that it’s prepackaged and easily deliverable

Organize Your Present

Once you’ve got your background material organized, you can move on to the present What are you doing right now career-wise? What are your interests and hobbies? What do you consider to be your strengths and weaknesses? If you are comfortable with your skills, interests and abilities, you can easily formulate an answer to any of these types of questions – you simply draw from your ready supply of information about yourself

Know Your Future

Finally, consider your future What do you want to be doing with your career in a few more years? Is more education in your future? Do you have a dream of doing something unrelated to your current career? Knowing where you want to be and why, in both a general and specific sense, allows you to toss out a thoughtful answer to a future goals question in an interview Knowing your goals on a broad level allows you to tie them specifically to a particular job or company during your interview – preferably the one you’re interviewing for

Prepare Yourself

Knowing yourself inside and out, you should also know if you are a strong candidate in an interview situation If you are cool and collected in the hot seat, you have the edge on the majority of the population who get flustered and lose their train of thought under pressure Even if you are a superior speaker, practicing ahead of time is a valuable way to learn to position your body and follow through with good interview practices While practicing at home:

- Say your thoughtful responses aloud so they are more ingrained and less spur of the moment when you’re actually on the spot

- Speak slowly and clearly to be sure you are heard well by your imaginary and future interviewers

- Look your interviewer in the eye or between his eyes if eye contact is difficult for you

- Use expressive facial expressions and contained hand gestures to make what you say more interesting and natural (Smiling, relaxed candidates are better than stiff, frowning ones)

- Be a good listener Often your interviewer will tell you about the company or job and you should listen carefully Nod your head, show you’re listening by making acknowledging gestures or sounds, and ask thoughtful questions to show your interest

- Lean forward in your seat and keep your feet on the floor – don’t cross your legs during an interview Ladies can cross their ankles and tuck them under their chair

Finally, you should always thank the interviewer at the end of the interview and with a follow up thank you card a few days later

A great collection of the most common job interview questions and answers, job interview tips and resume writing tips and many more for job seekers and for interviewers are available at http://www.adow.com

Saving Lives Working as a Physician

Author : Amy Nutt

If it were not for physicians, the world would be a much sicker place for the fact that physicians bring to us the medicine that makes us well and keeps us well But what is amazing about physicians is that they save lives So many people are on this earth walking around because a physician did something great that gave them their life If it were not for the medicine and the great doctors who practice it, the world would be a much different and less healthy place

Becoming a physician

There seems to be a shortage of doctors Many students will go to college in hopes to become a physician, but they do not finish Sometimes it is because they fail out of school and other times it is because they decide that becoming a physician is not what they want to do

But when you work really hard and keep up your grades, you can become a doctor and you can get in on saving lives Yes, it takes approximately 8 years of schooling to become a doctor, but the money is great and the satisfaction gained from saving people is quite incredible

In order to get to enjoy the money and the satisfaction, you have to complete your undergraduate courses You usually have to pull off a lot of biology and anatomy courses Once you complete them and you have at least a “C” average, you can then apply for medical school When admitted into medical school, you do a lot of classroom work, you get to see things that the average person finds to be disgusting, and you even get to work with those disgusting things Eventually, you are able to work in an actual hospital setting when you are in your third and fourth years

Once you have all of this under your belt, you can apply for licensure in your state or the states that you will be practicing in Once you are licensed, you can work in a hospital or have your own practice

Helping people

When a physician has someone come to them when they are sick, the main goal is to make them well It is amazing to watch an individual who is ill to become well Sometimes it can be just the cold or the flu Other times it can be something such as cancer Imagine being a doctor who is working with a cancer patient that has a slim chance of living, but doing the right things for that patient that gives them another chance toward life

What you are doing is working with the patient The patient can’t go on if they don’t want to When they do want to go on, you’re doing everything you possibly can to give them the chance that they want It is a rather amazing thing Individuals in the medical field usually don’t see the magnitude of this They are patients and they know what it is a doctor does for them individually And yes, patients can be a bit judgmental sometimes when they don’t get the results that they want

That is nothing to get too upset about because, just like in any sector, it is hard to please everyone As a physician, you simply go on with your day and think of all of the people you have made happy by helping them to get well And if you’re debating whether or not to become a physician, it is very rewarding and you’ll be able to live the life you’ve always wanted The world needs physicians, so you might as well go for it
