What s Needed Right Now Is Optimism
Author : dennis sullivan
Almost everyone has chosen pessimism That’s why things are going down It’s easy to see Most everyone is thinking pessimistically What’s going on reflects their pessimism That is, there’s more and more for pessimistic people to be pessimistic about How could it be anything else? How could thinking everything is bad lead to good? How does nervousness and anxiety lead to peace and calm?
Stress leads to more stress Anxiety leads to anxiety Pessimism leads to pessimism How it could be otherwise?
If everyone thinks the sky is falling, believe me, it’s falling And the naysayers get to say, see I told you so It’s not the naysayers It’s the followers of the naysayers If nobody paid attention to the naysayers, there would be no more naysayers The mind is fascinated by naysaying It’s even more thrilled by trouble, problems and big crises
Fascination with trouble gets you more trouble Once again, I ask you, how can it be anything else? Am I saying you’re doing it to yourself? That’s exactly what I am saying Whatever you have, whether you like it or not, you have done to yourself Most don’t like to hear that because they like to believe it happened to them, they’re innocent victims of circumstances, scoundrels or crooks That’s convenient to think, but it’s not so Whatever you have—or don’t have you have set it up with your thinking
Don’t believe it You don’t have to It’s your decision You’re free to decide Be the victim and you have what victims create, more victimhood, more things to be a victim about
Refer to several lines earlier Let me phrase it more clearly Positive leads to more positive and negative leads to more negative Lint collects lint is another way to put it You don’t plant chaff and get wheat anymore than planting wheat gets you chaff Optimism is needed Optimism isn’t, hip, hip, hooray Optimism isn’t a big, wide smile, while you’re busting inside Optimism isn’t yeah, yeah, yeah when inside it’s no, no, no Optimism happens when you let go of no, no, no Optimism happens when you let go of pessimism
What is pessimism? Pessimism is, I cannot do it, I cannot have it, I cannot be it I cannot If that’s a person’s mindset, for them it is true Optimism is, I can do it Yes I can I can have it I can do it
It’s simple Whatever you think, you get If you’re pessimistic, you’re going to have a lot more to be pessimistic about If you’re optimistic you’re going to have a lot more to be optimistic about If you put a shoe in an oven, the oven will bake the shoe, it doesn’t care If you put negative, pessimism in the oven the oven will turn out more pessimism
Optimism is needed Not for the world The world is going to do what it’s going to do Optimism is needed for YOU You get optimistic by letting go of the pessimism Ignore the pull of pessimism Decide I am not going to get into pessimism Doing that turns you more optimistic Do it all the time and all the time you are becoming more optimistic Good things come to the optimistic just like not so good things go to those who expect not so good things, called pessimists

Affirmations as a Manifesting Tool
Author : Gary Evans
I have to say that affirmations are a personal favorite manifesting tool Once you start to use affirmations, you realize just how easy they are, and what an affect they can have on your life
An affirmation is simply a positive statement You can create an affirmation about just about anything from your relationships, career, money/abundance, home, creativity, success and any other issue you could imagine We all have different desires and your affirmations are certainly going to be different from someone else s
But most importantly, affirmations are not just about achieving your intentions
Affirmations can be about changing the negative beliefs that have stood in the way of your being able to manifest your heart s desire for so long If there is something that you have longed to manifest and you are having trouble creating it, using an affirmation to help change your beliefs can have a powerful effect We talk to ourselves in so many ways Just think of how many things others have said to us that we carry around with us: our parents, friends, coworkers and teachers These things they have said have shaped how we react to the world around us By changing these beliefs, we have the power to change our reaction to the world around us and change what the world gives us It is an amazing, mind blowing thought for many
Just think if your teachers always said you are not good in math then you probably have thought that math was not a good subject for you You also have probably not given it a lot of energy By creating an affirmation I have strong mathematical ability you can open a deeper awareness to your own potential to do mathematical problems You probably aren t as challenged in math as you think you are, but by thinking you are, you make it much more difficult than it could be Using an affirmation helps to change this belief
They say that it takes twenty one days for a habit to become part of your life So saying your affirmations on a regular basis can only benefit you There is no hard and fast rule about saying them for twenty one days You may find some of them you need to say for much longer periods and others you need to say for shorter periods Say an affirmation for as long as you feel you need to It is best to say an affirmation several times in one sitting and to say it several times each day This helps it to truly sink into your conscious, subconscious and every level
All affirmations need to be positive statements as if the situation is occurring right now So it is not that something is coming to you, it is as if it is happening now or has already happened So if you want to be pregnant you do not affirm I will get pregnant you affirm I am pregnant Affirmations do not need to be long to be successful The best affirmations are phrases that are comfortable for you to say If an affirmation is too long then you may get tired of saying it It needs to be language that you would comfortably use in your daily life Take the time to word your affirmations so they best suit your needs

Seeing the Money on the Table
Author : Suzi Elton
Do you have a business that is struggling and you believe you never get any opportunities coming your way? Do you see other business owners have all kinds of good luck but believe luck passes you by ? Do you ever feel there s something you re just not getting about how to create new business flowing your way? Do you wonder what others are doing that you re not doing? Do you sometimes just feel like giving up in frustration? Does it seem that one more business disappointment will simply be more than you can live with?
This is a common part of being in business Though it is common, it is not acceptable Consider the possibility that not only are you leaving money on the table, you aren t even seeing the money on the table What if opportunities come your way as much as anyone else experiences, but you fail to see (or hear) them? Could it be possible that you learn of the same possibilities, but neither recognize nor react to them? In truth, this is what is happening Here are some ideas to help you better see the money on the table
1 An open and positive mental state is the greatest invitation to possibility Strive to retain that openness of attitude This will require you to choose the positive over the negative at all times This extends to people, places, and things If you re making negative choices, you re cutting off the expansive state of mind that attracts opportunity
2 ) Take your attention off yourself Put your attention on others Become genuinely interested in your fellow human beings If you re interested in them, they believe you re a brilliant conversationalist, and most will eventually develop some reciprocal interest in you and your offerings
3 ) Give up fantasies of overnight success Take the long view Develop patience Don t expect to hit a home run every time at bat That is unrealistic and leads to disappointment Disappointment wrecks that positive mental attitude
4 ) Develop relationships People want to work with those they know and trust Attempting to do business with strangers is much harder and not as rewarding, both personally and financially
5 ) A key strength to develop is the ability to hear opportunity in your conversations Be cautious and avoid pouncing on these opportunities Gently inquire and uncover the details and potential
6 ) Pay attention to your intuition or inner guidance Most people experience this as an inner voice or inner knowing, gently guiding them to do or avoid some action This inner voice can be trusted to help you with the timing of your approaches to opportunity
7 ) Make discreet inquiries If you get the intuition that there s potential opportunity, open a discussion about it Test for mututal interest Keep your eyes and ears open
8 ) Make a point of noticing when there is money on the table the potential for money producing business and decide you will pursue these opportunities
9 ) Once you have decided to notice and pursue, it will quickly become obvious that opportunities are all about us at all times You will also notice how oblivious most people are about opportunities
10 ) The biggest spoiler of opportunity is distraction Most people allow distractions to get in the way of both noticing and following up on opportunity There are countless, innumberable potential distractions Almost all of them are simply time wasters Keep your mind and the focus of your activities targeted on opportunities and the actions to realize them You will notice all about you frittering their lives away on fruitless distractions Simply refusing to do so will put you way ahead of your business competitors
Decide that in life and in your business you will see the money on the table and follow through to realize your opportunities Opportunity is always there We just need to optimize our opportunity detection skills

This is the Most Important Interview Question You Will Ever Ask
Author : Perry Maisin
Your interview is ending and there is a pause
Then, the interview looks at you and says:
So, do you have nay questions for me?
This is your chance to zero in on the interviewer and be
direct and focused on the job at hand You need to lead with a strong question that will force the interviewer to give you a direct answer
Answer: Yes If I an hired for this position, what must I accomplish in the first 60 days to be successful?
This question is powerful because:
1 It drives the interviewer to respond with a specific concern
2 It supports your direct concern about being a success
3 It is a direct appeal to determine what the major goals and objectives are for the interviewer If we assume the interviewer will be your boss, there is nothing more important
4 This question forces the interviewer to commit and make a qualifying statement like:
a the most important quality I m looking for is
b there is no one thing you must focus on
c If I were you, I would do this
Benefit of Direct Questioning
Once you identify what the interviewer wants, you will be able to write a powerful Post Interview letter
Why don t candidates ask this question?
People make a common mistake that usually ruins their interview Most people belief the myth that you work for a company, not a person In fact, it is the other way around
So, when the interviewer asks you if you have any questions; they mean for THEM not the COMPANY
The interviewer needs to hire someone to help him/her directly, not help the company Their concern is a selfish concern Your question must focus on their needs, not the company s needs
Therefore, if you answer this question with a general comment about the company s competitiveness, or leadership role in the industry, or product lines, etc; you have missed the boat You need to find out what this person cares about
Note: If the interviewer were interested in your knowledge about the company they would ask you if you had any questions about the company Usually, company info is not that important to a manager For example, if you are interviewing for a marketing position, your analysis of corporate finamce issues is not so relevant
Ask yourself: How will you help him/her succeed on a daily basis?
Once you ask the powerful question above, you may follow up with some of the questions below:
1 What did the previous person do in this job that was successful?
2 What is the most important attribute that you want the person in this position to have?
3 What should be the top priorities for the person in this position when they start?
4 Describe a typical day for me
5 What is the most important skill set for this job?
These questions focus on the position the interviewer wants to fill They communicate a message that says you are interested in this job and you want to succeed
You must weed out weak, general questions that will not provide the type of response you need to walk away with Most people leave the interview knowing no more about the job than when they came in You can change that when you ask meaningful questions that elicit specific responses about the job
Your objective is to learn about the real job,at this interview The job description is worthless to you How many jobs have you had where the job was exactly like the job description? None
Employers are looking for problem solvers not order takers Your mindset must be that of a consultant, not employee Your objective in the interview is to perform a needs assessment on the interviewer You are not there to simply answer Yes and No Consultants solve problems and provide solutions
You can t provide a solution if you don t know what the problem is Your objective at the interview is to uncover the problem
At the end of the interview ask the following question
Q What are the next steps in the interview process?
A The answer you get will usually provide a clue about the interviewer s intentions about you If the interviewer tells you to stay in touch or call back soon that s good news If you get the standard response that we are continuing to interview candidates , that may not be so good
In any event, you must send out your post interview letter within 24 48 hours Don t wait Keep the conversation going and continue to market yourself to the interviewer

Mistakes To Avoid When Applying For A Job
Author : Tony Jacowski
Job seekers usually make some common mistakes when submitting their job applications, and this reduces their chances of getting hired
-Research – Job seekers usually forget or neglect this issue without realizing that research is very important Do your homework on your potential employer, and you will be able to find some interesting points which may help you during your interview Perform simple research on the company, as it will surely reveal the type of people they are looking for
This research will also uncover the company’s ethics and working style You can do research by simply visiting their website If the website provides financial information, then try to understand their current position in the market
-Communication – Job seekers usually fail to communicate and present themselves in line with professional expectations Employers are usually dissatisfied with candidates who are unable to express themselves They hire employees to solve problems, and if they find your communication skills lacking, then your chances of landing the job are slim to none
-Interview – During the interview is the time to project yourself – it helps to be on your best behavior So learn the right techniques – turn off your cell phone, don’t share too much personal information during the interview and don’t ever speak badly of your past employers
-Dress appropriately – Understand and learn about the culture of the company Don’t dress casually if the current employees are dressed formally You must look appropriate to the type of company that you are interviewing with You want the employer to focus on your skills and accomplishments more than your looks, so be conservative
-Time – Never be late for an interview If you can’t be on time, be sure to call the employer and explain the reason Aim to arrive ten minutes before the interview is actually scheduled to begin
-Salary and benefits – Don’t discuss salary and the compensation before you have been offered the job Do not ever try to bring up the topic prematurely, because money is not everything if you consider career satisfaction to be your goal (as you have probably told the employer) Let the interviewer bring up the issue of money
-Preparation – Prepare well and practice the answers to common interview questions This will project you as a poised and confident person to the employer
-Avoid Dishonesty – Never lie to get a position You need to get the job based on your current skills, and any lies will be exposed eventually anyway
Avoid possible common mistakes and project your confidence and demonstrate your skills with grace Don’t hesitate to show your enthusiasm Whatever contact address or phone number you give, make sure you have a voicemail service and be sure to give them a professional mail address
There are lots of points to remember when you are trying to get a job By keeping in mind these common mistakes (and their solutions), you will already have a headstart

Stress Management Technique
Author : Rene Graeber
Most people complain about being stressed out But in a hectic modern world of today, who wouldn’t Stress is considered as any emotional, physical, or chemical factor that becomes the root of mental unrest, and may be an aspect in disease causation
A lot of people associate “stress” with mental or psychological stress; however, physicians and scientists use the term “stress” to indicate any force that damages the balance and stability of the body’s functions
People have to understand though, that even if stress disrupts the function and balance of the body, not all stress is bad A mild level of tension and stress may sometimes even be beneficial; as in the case of feeling slightly stressed with work projects, which can compel an individual to focus better, work energetically, and perform a good job
The same goes with exercise it produces temporary stress on a few bodily functions, yet has indisputable benefits to health It is only during overwhelming stress, or poorly managed stress, that the effects become negative In these cases, a vital goal would be appropriate stress management techniques
Generally, stress is connected to both internal and external factors Internal for the way the body responds to and deals with external-inducing factors job, physical environment, relationships, home, and situations Stress management therefore, can involve doing some changes in external factors that confront a person, or internal factors that strengthen the ability to deal with things that come their way Here are some effective stress management techniques:
Exercise
This stress management technique promotes one’s overall fitness, at the same time as helping manage tension and emotional stress it temporarily diverts one from a stressful situation, and being healthy and fit increases one’s ability to handle stress
Relaxation and Meditation
There are so many ways of relaxation and meditation; some can be learned in class, while others on one’s own This stress management technique helps improve one’s mental and physical well-being and control stress
Time Management
Having a good time schedule is an effective technique to take off critical stress especially with doing the tasks one needs to get done in a day Making sure that one does away with over scheduling helps a lot in not being “stressed out” with unmet commitments
Organizational skills
A well-organized physical surrounding eliminates being confronted with stressful situations of misplaced objects
Support Systems
Developing and cultivating a strong social support network -such as friends, loved ones, neighbors, business associates, and even pets- is healthy for the mind and body
Stress is a fact of life for a lot of people, it may come in different ways or forms, but the importance of not letting it get the better of you, can be a life saver Effective stress management techniques will help one to efficiently cope with stress; remember that early management of stress, means eliminating the potentials of health problems

As Always Learn to Develop Patience
Author : Katheryn Hoban
It has taken me a long time to develop patience, and I continue to develop it It might take you a long time too The only way you develop patience is by going through challenging or tedious efforts
Patience brings you out on the other side with a sense of achievement and renewed strength Sometimes to accomplish big changes you have to be patient with the little details: in tedious routines, with challenging people and challenging situations, until you get a breakthrough Roadblocks and obstacles pop up unexpectedly all the time and sometimes you have to create a different pathway to get to your destination
Other times you have to wait it out until something is cleared for you Many times you need divine intervention before you can move through something Patience gets you through those moments of waiting and not seeing any results In some things, no matter how hard you try to change something or create something with impact, it doesn’t work out, even though you know that you are supposed to do it and feel an urgency to do it I have had to learn that things take time, and not necessarily in my time, I have to keep doing what I am doing, and I have to wait for God You have to keep planting and nourishing your seeds before you see the tiny spouts spring up You keep taking the steps, and when everything lines up, and all your efforts blossom, then you will be in the middle of an exquisite garden to bask in
You need patience in many matters: family, friends, the Elderly, children, love and relationships, jobs, schoolwork, doing something creative like singing, writing or painting, making money, paying debts, starting a family, teaching someone, listening to your inner voice, meditating, fulfilling a dream
Things like these always require patience and endurance If you give up too quickly you may never receive what you really want Sometimes you have to be in the right place at the right time, and you have to wait for everything to line up There could be one element that is missing that you don’t know about, but God knows that it is missing Patience is the preparation of a task, the doing and completing of all the details, the waiting and follow through, and then waiting some more
It is doing all the tedious, boring and overly complicated things that will make a something go smoothly, and if necessary doing them over and over again each day and every day until something changes, or you are led by the Holy Spirit to change something, or add something new to what you are doing
Whatever you are building, it takes time and effort First you excavate, then dig, then create a foundation, then the skeleton framework; then you begin to fill inside the structure, build up, and add the finishing touches; then you use and work with what you have built, and you invite others to share it That effort could take a small amount of time or it could take a lifetime Either way, it is the living of it moment by moment that creates the life You don’t wait for your life to happen; life is lived by what moment presents itself next How you deal with each moment is all up to you by the choices that you make Choices require patience, too
We all need to have patience with ourselves Let yourself develop into the person that you want to be, and let yourself be what you really want to become One day you will have developed a tremendous amount of patience, and you will be able to master yourself and handle each moment intuitively copyright 2006 Yoga Kat
